Sweet Basil

So just a couple days ago my mom and I were very curious about catnip. Only because most evenings we go outside with a drink and enjoy the evening air with our dogs and cats. One of my cats eats grass which makes her get sick and throw up so that's why we were curious about getting it.

I looked it up and saw that Home Depot sells them, you just have to check with your store. So it was set, we got dressed and went to Home Depot. Looked everywhere and while looking I found one of my favorite things, BASIL!! I love basil and I love the smell and the taste. Im just obsessed. Also, interesting fact I saw on the internet was that it is repels mosquitos. Even better! So I grabbed 2 and we continued our search. No such luck and we even asked, I felt like she gave us this crazy look like, "You want catnip?"

So no catnip but out search will continue another day. So we take the basil home and planted it. I read that they need lots of sun and lots of water. And if I do very well, I can grow more basil leaves.

So here is where the Internet is a liar! Last night, I had my basil plant right next to me and my legs but yet I killed 2 that landed on my legs. And there was a third chasing my legs too! Ugh, it was upsetting. So basil does not repel mosquitos, don't listen to the liars.
