10 Things I Hate About You

In the first 10 minutes we see the principal or assistant principal, I don't know, is typing an erotic novel while the new kid in school is waiting in her office. When he leaves he is shown around campus by another kid who knows about every group in the school. He sees a beautiful girl and is already told not to think about it because her dad is super strict. The "bad boy" sees the principal over exposing himself which turns out to be a bratwurst. And then you see a heated exchange in class about a book. I honestly wish high school was like this all the time.

Some of the greatest actors are actually in this movie and when I say great I'm talking Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. I actually didn't know much about them until just a couple years back when I first discovered this movie. Sadly I haven't seen any other of their films, YET! Other names I know are like Gabrielle Union who played the best friend of Julia's sister.

Forgive me if this sounds confusing but the plot is very confusing. Kat and Bianca Stratford live with their dad who has made this rule that Bianca can't date until Kat gets a date and she doesn't plan on it. Cameron is very smitten with Bianca so he and Michael come up with a scheme. In order to date Bianca they tell Joey Donner to hire Patrick to go out with Kat so that Cameron or Joey can go out with Bianca.

This movie came out in 1999 and that year I was still in elementary school. My mom wasn't into movies like this and neither was my dad so never had it available to watch until recently. It's rated PG-13 so mature audiences only. 69% on Rotten Tomatoes and the movie is a little over an hour and a half.

I am so upset at myself for not ever watching this movie sooner. It is so good. Seeing Heath Ledger's hair confirms I really do like guys with longer hair. My husband won't even humor the idea though. Oh well.
